Norseman Investments, a Derbyshire developer with more than 35 years experience, is planning a £150m office development which could bring millions of pounds of investment into the centre of Derby.
The development on a three-acre site in the heart of the city, on land next to the Westfield Shopping Centre, comprises six new office blocks.
The six buildings, between six and nine storeys high, will be sited around a piazza with underground parking and landscaped gardens. The development will create 400,000 sq ft of new office space and will be the largest office project in Derby.
The scheme, designed by London architects TP Bennett, will aim for a BREEAM rating of ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’.
A planning application for the scheme is expected to be submitted in early September and, if the plans are approved, work is intended to start in 2009 and be completed in 2011.
