Equity release gives people access to the value they have built up in their home for their own use and is a choice for many looking to maintain or create a better lifestyle or to meet an unexpected financial need.

According to Saga, the over-50’s specialist, opting to release equity from a home can allow people to bring forward an inheritance for children or grandchildren.

A spokesperson for Saga commented that many people are concerned that by releasing equity from their homes, there will be less money to pass onto their offspring’s, but for many it can help bring forward the inheritance.
