A vast regeneration scheme is underway in North Devon with 2-3 bedroom holiday homes demanding half a million pounds.
Artist, Damien Hirst, opened a restaurant in the town of Ilfracombe back in the spring of 2004. Many locals believe that this shows there is a certain kind of person thinking about North Devon.
North Devon is the last unreachable place in the county and this adds to its attraction. There is no noise pollution, no light pollution and no congestion. Several properties at the Out of The Blue development in Croyde Bay were sold within 2 weeks, developers plan to build more properties to cope with the demand.
However, it’s not just the beaches that are attracting overseas investors, North Devon’s country-house market is also in demand. Ten houses in the area, priced over £1 million have sold in the last 6 weeks. Beautiful countryside is enticing many to this area, properties near Bideford are within striking distance of wooded valleys. Buyers from the city are beginning to catch on. Many investors are choosing the South-West instead of the South of France.
