Lettings franchise, Belvoir, is opening a Leyton office in East London on 6th July.
Proprietor, Zain Mahal, already runs Belvoir’s Stratford office which was launched in 2000.
According to Mr Mahal, the East London lettings market is still booming, although competition is fierce as an increasing number of estate agents have turned to lettings during the downturn.
The Belvoir network now extends to 145 offices across the UK and the firm aims to have 300 franchises in place during the next ten years.
The company is basing its expansion plans on its prediction that the UK’s private rental sector will show 50% growth during the period.
The firm is also keen to support landlords with timely advice and recently warned that the number of let properties being used for illegal purposes, such as cannabis farms, is on the increase.
Chief executive, Mike Goddard, advocates keeping a close eye on properties without making tenants feel they are being watched or wrongfully accused of a crime.
He reckons a close relationship between landlord (or property management company) and tenant is the answer and can work well for both parties.
